Holme Community School is a key partner in the Ripley TSA SCITT, a school-centred teacher training provider, and you can train to teach here from September 2019.
This highly successful teacher training programme, graded Outstanding by Ofsted, is designed and delivered by primary school leaders in Lancashire and Cumbria. Our vision is to develop outstanding teachers with the skills and knowledge needed by our schools now and in the future.
We are now recruiting trainee Primary teachers for September 2020 on either our full time or part time route. You can also earn a £6000 bursary if you want to specialise in mathematics.

The programme:
12 months full time, no part time option
Placements in 3 different schools
4 days a week in school, one day a week training
All training designed and delivered by expert primary teachers and headteachers
PGCE online distance learning with Leeds Beckett University
SCITT awards QTS
Entry Requirements
GCSE Maths, English and Science at grade C (now grade 4) or above
UK Bachelors degree or equivalent, ideally 2:2 or higher
Professional Skills need to be passed before the programme starts but not before applying
Enhanced DBS and barred list checks will be needed before starting programme
Medical check also needed before starting programme
School experience – we are no longer allowed to demand this, but we can support potential applicants by giving them school experience so that they can be sure this is the right career choice for them!
