Design Technology is a subject using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. Children will take place in six Design Technology themed weeks per year and follow a process of research, design, making and evaluating. Throughout the D&T projects, children will develop life skills such as cooking, woodwork and textiles.
How was our curriculum developed?
Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum for design technology. Our curriculum is based on the KAPOW scheme of work for design technology, as we liked the step by step approach to the design process and the breadth of opportunities it provides for pupils to be creative and innovate with design.
