Physical Education

Subject Leader: Mr Smith

At Holme Primary School we believe that physical education is an essential part of a child’s educational development. We aim to provide a high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all of our pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities. We want to provide opportunities for our children to become physically literate and confident in a way, which supports their health and fitness as they move towards making their own choices as young adults. In addition we aim to provide opportunities for children to compete in sport and other activities in order to develop skills and knowledge and help to embed values such as teamwork, fairness and respect. We want the children at Holme Community School to be proud of their achievements.

How was our curriculum developed?

Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum for PE. We used the PE passport scheme of work to support progression and assessment in PE.
