GDPR: Photography and use of images

During your child’s time at Holme Community School, there may be opportunities to publicise some of the activities that your child is involved with, this may involve filming and/or photography. As a school we welcome these opportunities and hope that, as parents, you do too.

Images may be used for school purposes, e.g. displays, newsletters and school brochures and on our website and Facebook page to promote our school and showcase some of the exciting things that children achieve at Holme Community School. Photography or filming will only occur with the permission of the Headteacher and under strict supervision of a member of staff. Children’s names will not be printed with photographs. No other personal details will be disclosed. Images of your child held by the school which are subject to General Data Protection Regulations 2018 can be viewed upon request.

With the introduction of the GDPR in May 2018, we are now legally required to hold written consent for use of photographs/images. We need your permission before we can photograph or make any recordings of your child.

If you wish to withdraw consent at any time, please notify the office in writing. If consent is withdrawn, this does not affect the processing of any data for which you have given consent previously.

LOCAL VISITS (on foot)

From time to time it may be necessary for the class teacher to take your child off the school premises, e.g. to the village hall, the church, or any other location within easy walking distance of the school.

We feel this type of activity is extremely valuable to your child’s education and rather than produce a permission slip for every situation we have produced this general ‘catch all’ format on the application form.  Any visit requiring transport will still be covered by a separate permission slip.

LUNCHES

Our nutritionally prepared school meals are planned by Lancashire Catering and are freshly cooked each day in school. An example of the current school menu is available here. Meals must be ordered at least 7 days in advance on Scopay (via the calendar tab).

Nursery: £2.80 per day. If you have booked a full day (6-hr session), you can either provide a packed lunch for your child or you can book a school lunch.

Key Stage 1: FREE. All children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 are entitled to a Universal Infant Free School Meal. We really encourage all children to take up this opportunity.

Key Stage 2: £2.80 per day for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

Please see the separate letter regarding Pupil Premium funding (currently granted for those children eligible for Free School meals due to lower income or certain benefits).

Packed lunches should be a healthy alternative to a school meal, and we ask that children do not bring sweets or chocolate at lunch time. Drinks should not be fizzy and should only be in plastic bottles. Please ensure that any packed lunch is in a suitable container and has your child’s name on it. Please do not send hot soup in a flask, it can be very dangerous if spilled.

DRINKS

Milk: FREE for children in Nursery and Reception class and is subsidised by the Nursery Milk Scheme and the RPA. 22p per day for Years 1 to 6.

Water: We encourage all children to drink water throughout the day. Please make sure your child has their own, named, plastic water bottle to keep on their desk to drink throughout the day. Also, please ensure this is kept clean and filled.  A water fountain is also available, if necessary.

FRUIT

FREE for children in Reception, Years 1 and 2 provided by the SVFS.  10p per day for children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6.
