Personal, Social & Health Education (PHSE)

Subject Leader: Mrs Burton & Mr Dewar-Willox

We aim to ensure that all children develop the skills necessary to keep themselves fit, healthy, happy and safe as children and as adults. Through a curriculum based on the challenges associated with growing up, children will explore their own beliefs and values and consider how they respond to different situations. Underpinning this is the development of empathy, to be able to understand the challenges others face, and develop an awareness of current affairs. Children at Holme Community School will also develop an understanding of what it means to be a good citizen, government, the law, and how they can engage in decision making now, and in the future.

How was our curriculum developed?

Our PHSE Curriculum is based on the PHSE Association's programme of study, which can be found here.
